Everyone has their specific preference of taste and to provide them with that cuppa each time requires some skill. The elements need to be in proportion, the ratio of milk to water should be perfect and then brew it just enough to boost the flavours. Tea Recipes to Treat your Taste Buds with Robust Flavour
Whether you're planning for a simple 'Chai pe Charcha' session, a tea party or if you want to break the monotony in life, here are 6 ways to turn your regular cuppa into an impressive flavoursome drink.
1. Fruit Infused Tea - for a Burst of Mediterranean Flavour
It is a lovely blend of brewed tea, citrusy orange pieces, sweet berries, ginger, and mint leaves. Here is the full recipe.
2 chamomile tea bags
50 gms berries
50 gms blueberries
10 gm ginger
8-10 mint leaves
2 cups boiling water
Method: Brew camomile tea bags along with orange peel, berries, blueberries, mint leaves and ginger for four minutes to blend the flavours. Make sure to serve it hot.
2. Honey Lemon Ginger Tea - for Tangy Sweet Flavour
This one is the perfect dose of a cure for the days when you are feeling a bit drowsy. Just sip on it gently and feel the difference.
3 Cups Water
1 tsp Ginger, finely chopped
1 tsp Tea leaves, for every cup
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Honey
Method: In a pan, pour 3 cups of water and heat it. Add ginger before it begins to boil. When you see it starting to boil, add the loose leaf tea, lemon juice, and honey. Strain the liquid into a cup and enjoy the flavour!
3. Mango and Peach White Iced Tea - for a Sweet Essence
A delightful twist to the usual fare, this iced tea will provide you with a burst of sweet seasonal flavours of mango and peach.
10 glasses of purified water
5-6 of white tea bags
2 peaches (pitted and diced)
1 cup of mango (chopped)
1 tbsp honey (to avoid sugar)
Method: Boil the purified water in a large saucepan. Remove it from the heat and steep the white tea bags for 7 minutes. Transfer the tea to a large mixing bowl and give it 30 minutes to cool. Make a mixture of chopped peaches, mango, and 1 tbsp of honey (to taste) in a smaller mixing bowl. Then shift the fruits to a large container, and pour the cooled tea into the container. Stir to combine the flavour, chill in the refrigerator and serve ice cold.
4. Chamomile, Apple and Mint Iced Tea - for a Soothing Citrus Floral Essence
The cuppa is a pleasant concoction of soothing chamomile tea along with apples and fresh mint leaves. Drink this tea as a perfect stress buster. Here is the recipe.
Chamomile tea bags
15-20 mint leaves
5-6 fresh jasmine
1/2 cup Apple Juice
Method: Brew collectively the tea bags, mint leaves, jasmine, and lemon. In a glass add ice, lemon, apple juice, and the brewed tea. Serve cold.
5. Masalewali Chai - for a Spiced-Up Essence
Spruce your regular cup of tea with a heavy dose of aromatic spices. It is your ideal companion on a rainy day along with your favourite pakora.
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp tea leaves
1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
2 tsp sugar or to taste
1/2 tsp chai masala
Method: Bring the water to a boil. Add the loose leaf tea and ginger and simmer for a minute. Add the chai masala. For preparing chai masala, grind equal quantities of star anise, cinnamon (dalchini), cloves (laung) and cardamom (elaichi). In this case, add one or two of each. Follow it by adding the milk and sugar, allow it come to boil once more, and then strain it into the cups. This one you can simmer for little longer.
6. Cherry and Ginger Iced Tea - for a Sweet yet Strong Essence
When sweet cherries are mixed with zingy ginger, it gives you a sweet drink with a kick. This one is a crowd pleaser, try it for your next tea party. Here is the recipe.
2 tbsp vanilla and chili sugar
3 ml ginger juice
75 ml cherry juice
35 ml jasmine juice
10 ml lime juice
25 ml grapefruit juice
Method: Take a highball glass and add ice cubes. Shake all the ingredients in the tin bottle and strain it over fresh ice. Strain the contents into the serving glass. Present it after garnishing it ginger and cherry in prisma.
